Nothing like a small January thaw to wake up a few Lady Beetles. We hit a balmy 35*F here in Kenosha, WI and boom! Lady Beetle calls from clients who have not seen them in years. Clearly not from outside, they have been hiding in the walls since last fall. If bad enough, we can help suppress the problem till spring. Minor issues are easiest to control with a vacuum cleaner.

So far this year has been a normal winter. almost bitter cold, yet no where near cold enough to kill off our pest populations. we need -25°F or colder. Even bed bugs will not die in the temps we have seen so far.
Mice are still looking for some place warm. Proper pest proofing not only keeps mice and insects out. It will keep the heat in. Bed bug calls are starting to pick up. This is right on schedule. 2014 had quite the strange weather. Winter seamed to last forever, spring squeezed out most of summer, fall was rather pleasant and then November! COLD! Mice came indoors in a fury. Was looking like we were going to have a white Thanksgiving and Christmas. Weather moderated in December. Much better than the Farmers Almanac predictions. The Holidays have brought in many bugs and critters. Bed Bugs were very active after Halloween and through November. There has been a slight slowdown in calls during December. You may think, good. Think again. More likely people are holding off treatment so they can afford Christmas gifts. What does this mean for you? Uninvited Guest!
